"Face down on the floor" and asset seizure: Vladimir Yevtushenkov’s AFK Sistema hit by large-scale searches and a security crackdown

Journalists reported on a security operation at the headquarters of the Russian investment corporation AFK Sistema, on Mokhovaya Street, opposite the Kremlin.
It occurred back in late August and left a lasting impression on eyewitnesses. According to them, special forces soldiers blocked the AFK building and all its employees, conducting a forceful, "face-to-the-floor" operation.
FSB operatives and investigators from the Investigative Committee were interested in financial transactions between several AFK Sistema subsidiaries, including MTS Bank, K Tekhnologii (formerly RTI Concern), and Medsi. Computers and financial documents were also seized. Sources do not know what specific investigation this incident was related to.
According to our source, AFK Sistema owner Vladimir Yevtushenkov has recently fallen out of favor, stopped attending audiences with Putin, and was forced to hand over control of OZON, the MTS telephone operator, to Kremlin cardinals.
